Carter Beauty: Yay or Nay? | Beauty Review
So I was really interested in trying Carter Beauty since before it released. While I've never used Cocoa Brown tans, I'm a huge fan of Marissa Carter and the brand she's grown. I picked up four products to test out and I've been trying them for a couple weeks now and finally have my thoughts put together.
Hold Tight Perfecting Primer
This was the first product I tried out and it really is a great primer. It leaves your face feeling so soft, very Porefessional like actually. I definitely noticed a difference in how long my makeup lasted and ceased. However there is an issue, the packaging! The primer just seems to thick for the pipette packaging and it's a real struggle to get it out. But again, it's a great primer so if you can get past the pipette issue, go get it.
Throw Shade Contour Stick
I got this in the shade light and I'm going to be honest, I hate it. The contour is so warm and orange and didn't blend out great. The highlight end was grand, reminded me of concealer highlighting, did an okay job, nothing to write home about. I wouldn't recommend this, though the medium and dark could be better, I haven't tried them. I'm pretty disappointed, I really wanted to like this contour stick but alas, I did not.
Get Lit Liquid Illuminator
Oh, I love a good liquid highlighter and this one is so pretty. I have the shade Ice and it's icey white with a bit of pink in it. It's definitely got glitter in it but unless you are lashing it, it doesn't look like it. I do find it's a bit oily so I like to put it on before my foundation or mixed in but it's so intense, it really brings your look up a level. It also has the pipette issue from earlier so keep that in mind. Overall I'd say go for it, it's a great product.
Free Speech Lip Tint
This is the best product of the four. I'm so damn obsessed with this tint. I got Meaghan, which is deep proper Autumn red, and it's so lovely. It goes on like a high pigment gloss but as the day goes on and this gloss fades, your lips are left with a beautiful red stain. Pop on some balm and you're good to go. I can't recommend this enough, go and buy them all!
So bit of a mixed bag here but overall I would recommend Carter Beauty. 3 out of 4 ain't bad, though I do hope the pipettes are done away with, they really hold back some products. I'll definitely be trying more from the range. Have you tried Carter Beauty yet? What are you're product suggestions? Let me know.
