Essence You Better Work! Collection | Makeup Review
It's been quite a while since I've been on here, hasn't it? Between being ill, work picking and general life, I've had no spare time to blog but I think I've finally got it sorted. I've lots of ideas in the works so I'm ready to put my energy back into the ol' blog!
Today's post is all about Essence's You Better Work! range. I've picked up three products from the collection to test out. I wanted to try a couple more but this was all that was in stock when I was shopping so we have to make do. This range is designed to survive a gym trip and keep you looking fab the whole time. I wore these to a Jiu Jitsu class and did they hold up? Let's get into it!
You Better Work! Tinted Day Cream (€4.80)
Tinted cream sums this one up really well honestly. It's super lightweight feeling and gives your skin an evening out look rather than coverage. It'll downplay redness but not cover a spot, if you get me. It has a natural finish to it, not full on matte, not super glowy. I find it applies pretty good with either a brush or a sponge. It lasted really well through my class, the majority of it stayed in place. Definitely faded on my nose but other than that, it looked more or less the same. Very impressed. I do have a complaint though and it's a big one. Two shades is a joke, I got the lighter of the two and it's too dark for me. I get that as it's tinted moisturier like coverage it doesn't need to be perfect but seriously Essence, sort this out.

You Better Work! Length Definition Mascara (€3.80)
I've talked on here about my struggles with Essence mascara so I wary trying this one out. Well I'm happy to say, Essence has won me over with this one! It does exactly what it says on the tube. Lashes are longer and wispier looking with a definite enhanced curl. It's a waterproof formula which can feel dry and heavy but thankfully, not this one. After the class I noticed a little smudging under one eye and a slight drop in the curl but nothing crazy. I was quite impressed honestly. At work, it held up perfectly and I wore it on some particularly hot days so I think the damage might be from getting thrown around. I liked this mascara so much that I'm going to pick up the volume version too.
You Better Work! Fixing Spray (€3.80)
This is a really nice setting spray, like really nice. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. It leaves a matte finish which isn't my personal favourite but I actually don't mind it with this one. Possibly because I always bounce my setting spray in with my sponge after I spray it on but that's just a guess. I've used this almost everyday since I got it and I can definitely see a difference in the longevity of my base when I use it. At class, work or just in everyday activities, this is a great setting spray. So great, I've finished the bottle at the time of writing. I was little put off by the size of the bottle but if it's something you through in your bag for the gym, I can see the point of the little bottle. Bonus points: It smells amazing!

Overall, I think You Better Work! is a really good range. Whether you're a gym fanatic, getting summer ready or tackling oily skin, I think this collection would be a great addition to your collection. Let me know, have you tried the You Better Work! Collection? Or will you be picking it up? I'll talk to you again next week!
That BB cream seems so nice for the summer but that shade range is a joke just like you said... I think the lightest shade will be too dark on me too But thank you for this review anyway, it was really helpful! ☺️❤️
